10 bold and beautiful young ladies clad in high-heeled, patent leather outfits appeared on an elevated platform at St James Powerhouse last night.
No it wasn't 'dominatrix' night at the popular night spot, but the fetish themed finals of the FHM Singapore Girl Next Door contest.
Besides competing for the title, the girls were fighting over the keys to a brand new car that the winner would walk away with.
So parading in skimpy attires, the girls teased and tantalised the audience into submission. They also had a chance to flash their 'intellectual properties' during the entertaining questions and answers segment of the finals.
According to FHM senior editor David Fuhrmann-Lim, the scores for the top three girls were very close, but in the end, only one 'dominatrix' could take the top spot.
And that was none other than 19-year-old student, Mandy Soong, who has a self-professed liking for guys in bank uniforms.
The Miss Singapore Universe 2008 finalist was also a favourite with the AsiaOne forummers, as she came in second in our online poll behind Merry Chen.
Besides her poise, Mandy also managed who wow the crowd with her personality, as she gave the amused audience an impromptu biology lesson during her turn at the Q & A session earlier.
When quizzed on what the most sensitive part of her body was, the new Girl Next Door informed that it was her neck because it was "the thinnest part of the skin."
Besides being titillated by these hot babes, who later changed out of their outfits into shimmery gold and silver bikinis, the audience was also treated to a naughty performance by Cheryl Miles of the now-defunct girl group, Cherry Chocolate Candy.
Jonathan Leong of Singapore idol fame turned in a much tamer and more subdued version performance as he crooned a ballad for his closing song.
As much as it was supposed to be a show for the boys, there was some form of eye candy for the girls as two gorgeous and ripped male models strutted around the stage the whole night clad only in boxer briefs.
Cooking in my lingerie
In a previous interview, Mandy had said that if she won the GND 2008 title, she would cook in Orchard Road clad only in sexy lingerie.
Will this vow ever come to pass?
"It will be soon, I promise," Mandy told AsiaOne, adding that she had grand plans of making sushi with a twist, where she would use brown rice in place of white, for her faithful readers.
Another major winner for the night was student Cordelia Low, 20, who took home three titles - First runner-up, Miss Photogenic and Miss Party Peppalicious.
Another student Elyn Chong, 21, rounded up the top three as well as the Miss Lovable title.
